David Cooper

OSJ Designee

David Cooper joined IFP as a financial advisor in 2014 and became an OSJ designee in 2023. Originally from Washington State, David graduated from Liberty University with honors in 2002. After graduation, he worked as a project manager for a local Lynchburg home builder until 2008, when he decided to pursue a career in financial services following a passion for investing and guiding others on the path to wealth building.

He spent the first year in the business at Mass Mutual, getting his Insurance and Series 7 licenses under his belt before transitioning to CCF Investments where he had the opportunity to work with and be mentored by Ron DeVos, a Dave Ramsey Endorsed Local Provider. In 2014, he joined with Ron DeVos and Jack Jones to form Vision Financial Group and move their affiliation to Cambridge and connect with Dan Harriman as their OSJ through Independent Financial Professionals. The 4G Team Directed portfolios were launched in 2019 and David has been part of the Investment Committee since the beginning. He has the Series 7, 24, 65, and 66 licenses.

David and his wife Meg have seven children, live in and care for a home built in 1850, and are active in their local church in Lynchburg, VA. Every summer David joins his older children in a competitive Ultimate Frisbee league.
